About the Library

South Carolina Public Library System

The Anderson Main Library is located just one mile from the Anderson University main campus. All Anderson County residents, including residential AU students, are eligible for and encouraged to apply for a free library card to use both the physical resources (not just books - this includes hotspots, fishing equipment, state park passes, and other items) located at the library and its many digital resources such as ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, streaming media, and databases. The Anderson Main Library also has conference and meeting rooms available for reservation.

The Anderson County Library System participates in the SCLENDS program, which is a robust interlibrary loan system through which you can request items from a consortium of 20 South Carolina county libraries and the State Library and have them delivered to the Anderson Main Library or another library location within the SCLENDS system.

All South Carolina permanent residents are eligible and encouraged to apply for a State Library card. This will enable you to access the physical resources located at the state library in Columbia and many unique online databases on South Carolina's history and government.
