About the Library

All AU distance learners have full access to the digital resources provided via the Thrift Library catalog, A-Z databases, and interlibrary loan (ILL) and assistance provided by Thrift Librarians.

Distance learners located within the state of South Carolina (such as students taking courses at University Center of Greenville, UCG) may request physical materials through PASCAL Delivers and have them delivered to any participating PASCAL Delivers library for pickup and return.

Distance learners located outside of South Carolina will generally not be able to access the physical materials located in Thrift Library's collection. Accommodations may be made upon request for special situations (please email ill@andersonuniversity.edu for instructions). Students located outside of South Carolina are encouraged to:

1. Obtain a library card at your closest public library.

2. Obtain a community borrower's card from your closest public academic (college) library. All public academic libraries allow their communities to access their collections since they are funded by local taxpayers.

3. Search for the desired physical item via www.worldcat.org to locate the nearest publicly-funded library OR Atla/ACL private academic library that holds the item. Locate and follow the library's visitor procedures for checkout.
