After serving as Head of Access Services at McCain Library, Erskine College and Seminary since 2006, I started working at Anderson University Thrift Library in 2015 as a Reference and Technology Librarian. In 2023, I transitioned to the role of Systems and Digital Resources Librarian. My career in Access Services, Reference, and Systems has brought me so much joy, not only helping students, faculty and staff get the resources they need, but making sure that our access to the databases and library management system is working in top form.
Prior to jumping into the library world, I was found working in various restaurants in Chapel Hill NC and also Paris, France. I hold a diploma in Pastry from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and used my business admin/culinary experience to run a catering company with my husband before my family expanded. During my husband's years in graduate school, I was lured by the siren call of the Circ Desk in the Science Library at the University of Georgia and never looked back. Earning a MLIS was a challenging, but rewarding experience and provided the opportunity to immerse myself in an academic librarianship career. Admittedly, I still enjoy spending time baking in the kitchen, for friends and family, whenever I have a chance. Additionally, I love spending time in service to the Lord and with my church, St.Stephens Episcopal, participating in worship, Sunday School, various outreach ministries, and our Daily Prayer ministry.
