Steps of Proceedure

Method 1

  1. Go to OneSearch.
  2. Choose Advanced Search.
  3. Type in the phrase    charts, diagrams, etc.   in the first line.
  4. Type    statistics   in the next line.
  5. Choose a discipline to search by clicking on as many Discipline boxes as are relevant to your search. (The more you click, the broader your search) Examples: - Chemistry - Biology - Economics
  6. Click on the red Search Button.
  7. Limit your results by clicking on the Full Text Box (left of page).
  8. Limit your results by clicking on the Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals Box (left of page).
  9. View individual articles by clicking on the PDF icon. Warning: This method is not 100% effective, but it should work nine out of ten times.

Method 2 - A more specific search.

If you wish to search for a specific topic within a discipline,simply add that word or phrase to your search. Examples:

  • Immigration
  • Stock Market
  • Ebola
  • Violence against women
  • Hurricanes - Economic aspects

Method 3 - By Journal Title

Using the list of recommended journals in the box to your right...

  1. Go to OneSearch.
  2. Choose Advanced Search.
  3. Type in the phrase    charts, diagrams, etc.   in the first line.
  4. Type    statistics   in the next line.
  5. Type the name of the journal in the third line and select SO Journal Title/Source from the drop down box.
  6. Click on the red Search Button.
  7. Limit your results by clicking on the Full Text Box (left of page).
  8. View individual articles by clicking on the PDF icon.

Warning: Many full text journals have an embargo period of 3, 6, or 12 months before loading articles!
