NAXOS Music Library (NLM) – Containing over 65,000 cds and a track count of  almost a million., primarily dealing with classical music, but also some jazz, folk, blues, world, pop, rock, gospel, etc.

Sound Recordings @ Thrift Library

Although all music recordings are listed in the Library Catalog, the Music Holdings Database (located at the Reference Desk) provides additional information such as cut by cut descriptions. It also provides additional data to search. For instance, you can search for performers by name, period (Baroque, Romantic, etc.), instrument or voice (tenor, violin, etc.), and in any combination of terms.

NOTE: The Music Holdings Database is an in house database created by the library and stored on a computer located behind the Front Desk. You may ask a Reference Librarian to look up a CD or LP

Your can use one of the notebooks printed from the database. Thes are very user friendly and allow you to browse a list of recordings arranged by Composition, Composer/Composition, or Singer (alphabetical within tenor, bass, baritone, alto, soprano, mezzo-soprano categories.)

There is a separate notebook for LPs.

You may listen to music in the Library, or check out CDs for three days.

$1.00 Fine with no grace period!

Headphones are available upon request for in house use which will operate on any listening station or any computer.
