The Bible: Commentaries

This LibGuide covers all aspects of the Christian Bible and leads the researcher to biblical commentaries, translations, atlases, Greek, Latin and Hebrew lexicons, concordances, dictionaries and encyclopedias.

Bible Commentaries

A Bible commentary will explain, in depth, each book of the Bible. This is usually done by printing the Biblical text itself, noting any problem with translation of ancient manuscripts, offering historical and cultural background material on a Biblical passage, and giving an explanation of the meaning of the Biblical passage.
