Computers

The library's six reference computers are located near the photocopiers (right, rear of main floor). You may log onto the campus network using a generic username and password. Two more are located outside the Writing Lab on the second floor, and five more are located in the study cubicles to the left of the Bunton Cybersecurity Lab. Eight are PCs and five are Macs.

All public computers contain MS Office and other programs for students to create papers and projects.

The Bunton Cybersecurity Lab, located at the far end of the second floor is reserved for cybesecurity majors. Student passwords will not work in the Cybersecirty Lab.

COVID-19 Rules - Computers, Printers

  • Computers have been spread out to provide social distancing.
  • We have more computer than last year.
  • Students are asked to wipe keyboards and mice before use.
  • Wipes are available near computers.
  • Gloves are available at Front Desk if desired.
  • Limit to one half hour when others are waiting.

PCs

  • Downstairs past the Font Desk - Two
  • Upstairs to the left of the Bunton Cybersecurity Lab - Five

Macs

  • Downstairs past the Font Desk - Two
  • Upstairs next to Wriiting Lab - Two

Computer Service

The library provides 13 public access computers equipped with internet access and MS Office and color and b&w printing.

Note that the primary purpose of the Thrift Library's Reference computers is Research. Recommended usage is one half hour if others are waiting.

Printing

Students may charge printing to their accounts.

Non-students may pick up their printing at the Front Desk and are charged 10 cents per page.

Rules

Please do not use the computers for non-academic purposes - web surfing, personal email, Facebook, You Tube, etc., when others are waiting.

Time limit - One half hour when others are waiting.

Use headphones when listiing to audio. Headphone are available at the front desk for checkout.

Wireless Access

The Thrift Library and AU Campus are wireless. Ask at the Front Desk for log in information.

Laptop - Dell Latitude 5480 - 3 hr checkout for use in library

Suitable for desk work or for connecting to the widescreens in Study Rooms 101 and 106. Also available are cables, flash drives, headphones, mics, and webcams.
