Making a Donation

Book donations are always welcome to our library. This may be done either through a donation of books or money to buy books.

With a donation of $50, the library will purchase a book In Honor or In Memory of a student, alumni, friend, or loved one.

Gifts are acknowledged with a donor plaque placed in front of the book.

Examples of Early Bookplates and Handwritten Dedications

During the first half of the century the library used a donation stamp and wrote in the details of the donation. The stamp you see below reads:

  • Library of Anderson College
  • Presented by ____________________
  • Date _______________

The handwritten dedication reads - Mrs. Maggie Parker, Mar. 9, 1914.

Keep in mind that Anderson College was founded in 1911.

Donations from the Past

Friends of the Library have supported the university library from the beginning. Below are two gifts that have been in use for over 70 years.
